Performing organ transplants at the Heart Center UMC

On December 28, 2023, two organ transplantations were performed at the Heart Center UMC. A potential donor was identified in Ust-Kamenogorsk city, and whose relatives agreed to organ donation. The clinic’s team performed a heart transplant on a 53-year-old patient with dilated cardiomyopathy and a lung transplant on a 36-year-old patient who both were on the waiting list for an organ transplant.

On January 7, 2024, the Center's team also performed a heart transplant on a 39-year-old patient with severe heart failure. The organ donor had previously experienced a hemorrhagic stroke. At the moment, the health condition of all recipients is satisfactory, they are undergoing rehabilitation at the clinic.

We express our gratitude to all donors and their families who have agreed to organ transplants, and thus saved the lives of many people. We also thank the specialists of the air ambulance, medical and public services for their well-coordinated teamwork.
