Participation in the training on implantation of the AVEIR pacemaker13.10.2023
From October 2 to 3, a training on implantation of the leadless pacemaker AVEIR VR was held in the city of Melle, Belgium. This capsule-like device is installed in the right ventricle of the heart to deliver electrical impulses at a slow heart rate.
Abay Bakhytzhanuly, an interventional arrhythmologist, took an active part in the training, presenting the experience of the Heart Center and Kazakhstan. The training included a theoretical part, practice on the simulator and in the laboratory. Participants nailed the process of installing and extracting a pacemaker on the animal material.
This technology has been practiced at the Heart Center since July 2023, and to date, the clinic team has performed 10 procedures on implantation of the AVEIR pacemaker. Training in Belgium helped to consolidate knowledge and improve the skills of the procedure, as well as to exchange experience with foreign colleagues from Europe.
