Participation in the AАHCI 2023 International Forum in the USA

From April 10 to 14, a delegation of the University Medical Center clinics consisting of Chairman of the Board Yuriy Pya, Deputy Chairman of the Board Aigerim Abdiorazova and Executive Director Kanybek Ashirov visited the international forum “2023 AAHCI Global Innovation Forum” in Washington, USA.

AAHCI is an alliance of Academic Medical Centers that promotes cooperation and partnership between academic medical centers around the world, as well as brings together healthcare professionals to exchange experience and apply knowledge in improving public health. At regional meetings, Alliance members discuss topical issues of global health, ways of transformation and adaptation to changing conditions; develop policies and programs for the further development of medical centers.

Participation in the events of the Alliance and learning the practice of other countries are a useful experience for UMC clinics, which are currently undergoing transformation into an Academic Medical Center as part of the integrated healthcare system of Nazarbayev University. This will allow us to focus on the development of scientific research and advanced treatment methods, as well as expand the range of medical services for patients of UMC clinics.

Also, the next AAHCI meeting will be held on May 26 – 27, 2023 in Astana for the countries of the Central Asian region and worldwide. Within the framework of the theme “Academic Health Centers as Economic Engines for their Communities, Nation, and Region”, the heads of academic medical centers will meet to discuss issues, the positioning of institutions and opportunities for cooperation across centers.
