A master class on TAVI was conducted by doctors of the Heart Center for colleagues from India

From November 29 to December 2, the Center's doctors conducted an intensive master class on transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for specialists from India. The guests came from several medical centers to learn from the experience of our specialists and further develop this technology in their country.

TAVI technology was introduced at the Heart Center in 2012 and to date, the clinic's doctors have performed more than 600 such operations. Many years of experience allowed our doctors to establish an International Training Center on the basis of our clinic in 2020 to conduct training courses for the exchange of experience with local and foreign colleagues. During this time, 17 medical teams have already been trained, including doctors from Kazakhstani clinics and from foreign countries such as Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the master class, a series of lectures on anesthesiology, the use of ECMO during surgery, the possibilities of TAVI and practical cases were held. During 4 days of training, doctors jointly performed the implantation of the aortic valve in 10 patients of the clinic.
