The press service of the Ministry of Health reports that the transplantation of "heart-lung" and the implantation of artificial heart is planned for conduction in Kazakhstan.
One of the major achievements of the National science cardiac surgery center and the breakthrough in the domestic medicine was the donor heart transplantation to the patient with the chronic cardiac failure which was firstly held in Kazakhstan in August, 2012.
" 50 kidney transplantations had been held for 2012 (the National Scientific Center of Surgery named after A.Syzganov, the National Scientific Center of Motherhood and Childhood, the Republic Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care, the City Clinical Hospital № 7 Almaty). 1 - from a cadaveric donor, 5 liver transplantations, 1 pancreas transplantation (the City Clinical Hospital № 7), 1 heart transplantation (the National Research Cardiac Surgery Center), 22 bone marrow transplantation for adults (the Republic Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care), 8 bone marrow transplantations for children (the National Scientific Center of Motherhood and Childhood, the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Surgery), "- is said in a statement.
In 2012, the National Research Cardiac Surgery Center provided 2050 tertiary care services including 1574 open-cardiac surgeries of which 87 are unique operations (49 surgeries are for implantations of the Left Ventricular Assist Device). In addition according to the press office only for 2012, the Center introduced 7 innovative technologies in the field of the cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology, including the endermic transcatheter implantation of the aortic valve, the transcatheter closure of the left atrial appendage, the renal denervation when the resistant hypertension and others.
In 2012 the Republican Scientific Center of Neurosurgery introduced technologies of the spinal cord neurostimulation, operations with the use of stereotactic system, the use of neuronavigation in operations on the spine and spinal cord, combined transbazal accesses for tumors of the skull base using the intraoperative neuromonitoring.
According to the press-service, there was successfully introduced the technology of the spinal cord neurostimulation for the chronic neuropathic pain syndrome of the spine and lower limbs. 4 implantations of the spinal cord neurostimulation were implemented. This service involves the use of high-tech electronic devices that are implanted in the human body. For the first time the method of stereotactic surgery was introduced in Kazakhstan. 4 successful operations of stereotactic brain biopsy was implemented.
The National Scientific Medical Center widely conducts the research work in the field of cell technologies among patients with the sensorineural hearing loss, diabetes mellitus, patients with the coronary heart disease and postinfarction cardiosclerosis, chronic diffuse liver diseases, autoimmune diseases of the nervous system, degenerative changes in the retina, inflammatory and destructive joint diseases. So in 2012, 950 transplantations of the fetal cells were implemented, including hepatocyte-396, nephrocyte-123, pancreas-188, neuron-113, chondrocyte -107, thyrocyte-23.
In addition, the center has developed a number of high technologies, such as a tissue-engineered construction based on the collagen matrix, the technology of getting the viable and functionally activ bone marrow cells invitro and others.
Modern technologies of endoprosthesis when the malignant lesions of the joints (33), larynx (5) and breast cancer (6) are introduced on the base of the Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology.
Radical laparoscopic surgery for gynecological cancer is introduced; in 2012, 15 endoscopic operations were performed.
